In July 2016 I was made redundant from my long term corporate accounting job with Hewlett Packard. I had been in the corporate world since I left university 20 years ago working for corporations like DHL, GE and HP. I also turned 40 this year.
Could be the recipe for a midlife crisis but instead was the kick up the backside I needed to get my own business vision going.
This whole idea came from conversations with friends, and working on my partners quit smoking business for the last 12 months. What I have concluded is that most small business owners/sole traders start a business doing what they love, or what they are good at, or both!
They are either unprepared, overwhelmed or just don’t have the time and skills to invest in their digital footprint. Word of mouth is still the greatest referral, but if you don’t have a website or a social media presence you are missing out on potential customers. So many conversations, connections and interactions happen online.
With midlife crisis avoided, I have taken my business knowledge from 20 years of corporate life, my analytical and technical nature and rolled them into Digital Visibility. If you don’t have the time, don’t know where to start or need an overhaul of an existing website, then get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and working with you to achieve your business goals.
I also play in an awesome 90’s rock covers band in Sydney. You can check us out here.
